SACRED HARP SING

The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown, Florida will be presenting it's 10th Annual Sacred Harp Sing on Saturday, February 15, 2014 starting at 9:30 am CDT.Sacred Harp Singing, aka FaSoLa or shape note singing, is a uniquely American tradition and has been preseved in the South since colonial times.Singing Gospel Hymns without the accompaniment of a harp or any other musical instrument this singing a'capella from shape notes.Come and enjoy this special southern tradition and also enjoy dinner on the grounds.Visitors are requested to bring a homemade pot luck dish or dessert for all to enjoy and to show off your cooking/baking skills.
